Welcome to Public Notice, where science of learning insiders get their news. Today’s newsletter asks a researcher why students got better at math after a reading intervention; a little announcement concerning the Big Idea we’re covering in The Bell Ringer’s Summer School 2026 (get ready for book club and SOL coffee klatch); I dip my toes into the tech/screens backlash that’s brewing across the country; and strongly suggest you listen to a very good podcast. Plus important events and learning opportunities to add to your calendar. Let’s go!

*If you’ve got news, a tip, an upcoming report or event you’d like to share with The Bell Ringer community, give me a shout and put “Public Notice” in the subject line.
